Security Incident – Customer Information

(Last updated on 11.09.2026 9:25 CEST)

We can now confirm that we contained the incident on the same day (11.08.2026). No further data extractions have occurred since then. We have engaged an external forensic company that confirmed our investigation. Findings indicate that individual properties are affected, not all customers using the platform. Affected customers can find property-specific information on their accounts.

Additionally, for all affected accounts, the Mass Guest Messaging tool is now available in your Seekda Hotel Manager → for free.

What it does:

  • Sends a message to guests who booked through your property, straight from Hotel Manager
  • Comes with ready-made templates, including a template to raise awareness of scams and phishing happening in the hospitality industry
  • Builds your recipient list from the guest data already in your account
  • Sends under your property’s name, with your hotel’s email as the reply-to, and a delivery log you can check

Where to find it:

Hotel Manager > Guests > Mass Messages

More information can be found in your email inboxes with the detailed instructions.

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • What happened?

On 11 August 2026, we detected a security incident in our systems. We took immediate measures to contain it, and our investigation is continuing as a priority.

  • Is my property affected?

Our current findings indicate that individual properties were affected, rather than all properties using our platform. Impact is being assessed on a property-by-property basis. Please check Hotel Manager for the current information concerning your property.

  • I manage several properties. Do I need to check each one?

Yes. Findings are property-specific, so please check each property individually in Hotel Manager.

  • How do I access my property’s information?

Log in to Hotel Manager with an account that has permission for the relevant property. Property-specific findings and recommended actions are shown there.

  • Has personal or reservation data been affected?

Where we have confirmed information for a specific property, it is available in Hotel Manager. If data for your property is confirmed as affected, see ‘Will you contact my guests?‘ below regarding your obligations.

  • What should I do if Hotel Manager recommends an action for my property?

Please follow the steps shown on your property’s page in Hotel Manager. It is important to complete the recommended steps as soon as possible; time-sensitive actions (such as credential changes) are marked as such.

  • Where can I learn more about my data protection obligations?

Under data protection law, each property is the controller for its own guest and reservation data. Any assessment of your obligations, and any decision about notifying an authority or informing guests, sits with the property and should be based on the findings shown for that property. We suggest consulting your legal counsel to ensure that all requirements of the applicable data protection law are met. Please note that the GDPR may also be applicable to actors located outside of the EU/EEA under certain circumstances.

  • Will you contact my guests?

No. We process guest and reservation data on behalf of each property. The legal responsibility to assess whether affected guests must be informed – and to carry out that notification where required (for example under Article 34 GDPR, where a breach is likely to result in a high risk to the individuals concerned) – lies with the controller, not with Seekda. Please base this assessment on the findings shown for your property in Hotel Manager, and see the section on data protection obligations above. Seekda will provide the property-specific information you need for this assessment.

  • Will this page be updated?

Yes. We will update the available information as the investigation progresses. This page was last updated on 17.08.2026 15:53 CEST
